Richard Ober

Richard was born on March 1, 1683 or 1684 in Beverly, Massachusetts.

His parents were Richard Ober and Abigail Woodberry. He was the sixth child of nine.

Richard married Priscilla Woodberry on January 15, 1705 or 1706. They had eleven children, Peter (May 25, 1707 to ?); Priscilla (September 3, 1710 to ?); Martha (March 11, 1711 or 12 to ?); Edith (March 31, 1714 to ?); Infant (June, 1715 to 1716); Richard (November 6, 1716 to ?); Josiah (June 26, 1719 to ?); Sarah (March 29, 1721 to ?); Ebenezer (May 16, 1722 to ?) Rebekah (August 3, 1723 to ?); and Benjamin (February 21, 1724 or 1725 to January, 1788).

Richard died on August 2, 1725 in Canso, Nova Scotia at about the age of 42 years. He was on a trading or fishing voyage.

His wife was appointed administrator of his estate which totaled 695 pounds, 8 shillings. The inventory of his property included boats, oars, nets, and other appliances of the sea.
