Memories

Alfred and Orley lived on their farm in Sherman County, Nebraska for 59 years. They met at Lost River, Idaho. Alfred had gone there to visit his uncle Will Gray. He went to work at age 19 for Stella Gray Evans. Alfred loves sports and fishing. Orley likes sewing, quilting, crochet, gardening, and canning.

Daughter in Law Helen remembers Orley didn't like her name. Sometimes Orley used Orla and added Edith as a middle name for a number of years. When a granddaughter was name Melissa after her she dropped the Edith.
She remembers that Orley taught her to crochet.
