John Williams Bell

John was born November 20, 1794 in Salem, Massachusetts.

His parents were Samuel Bell and Margaret Gray.

John was baptised on April 2, 1795 in Salem, Massachusetts

John married Betsey Friend on December 1, 1814 and had twelve children: Elizabeth (April 5, 1815 to 1885); Mary (February 26, 1817 to 1852); Caroline (February 27, 1819 to 1827); John (February 10, 1821 to December 2, 1888); Augusta (March 23, 1823 to 1900); Anna Maria (March 14, 1825 to 1887); Samuel (June 8, 1827 to June 22, 1827); Samuel (July 21, 1828 to 1870); George Wolcott (January 9, 1831 to 1896); Caroline (July 27, 1833 to October 3, 1849); William Henry (July 27, 1835 to 1910); and Clarissa (October 9, 1838 to 1920).

After Betsey's death, John married Emeline Mercy Cook on March 4, 1850 in Beverly, Massachusetts. They had two children: Burleigh Cook (1851 to 1930); and Emma Louisa (1854 to 1899).

John is in the 1820, 1830, 1840, and 1850 census in Beverly, Massachusetts.

John died October 21, 1857 in Beverly, Massachusetts at the age of 62 years, 11 months, 1 day.
